Welcome to Beacon Street Gallery & Theatre

Beacon Street Gallery and Performance Company is a community arts organization dedicated to building community through diversity. Our organization serves Chicagoland's diverse populations through exhibition, performance, arts education, folk and ethnic art, public art, and first voice documentation. Beacon Street focuses on nationally significant but underserved and disenfranchised VOICES: women, minority, and new and emerging artists engaging, representing, and educating the cross-cultural landscape of Chicago. Over 26 years, we have served over 6,500 artists and 18,500 at risk youth, resulting in creative, educational, and economic opportunities for all people through multi-faceted programming.

I am wide open like the prairie. Wind sears through my spaces. The swell with rain shrivel with heat splinter with cold. I am wide open unprotected by mountains unguarded by seas. I am the prairie forsaken by trees. I am wide unobstructed by shade open. Seeds flower wild. Into my spaces light climaxes unbridled.
